Removing Files from the Backup Server

In the event that a users has gone over the quota, or would like to clear some space on the backup server, the following instructions walk the user through removing files from the backup server.

This process is also useful to users who are moving a backup account to another PC. In this particular scenario the user would first install the application on the new PC, restore all necessary files and then delete all files located on the backup server. This would clear the account and allow for backups from the new computer.

  1. Open the application, select the Delete tab.
  2. Select Whole Subtree.
  3. Press the Delete Files Now button.

 

1) Switch to Delete Mode:

Select the Delete tab from the main menu.

Select Files

 

2) Select Whole Subtree:

Right-click on My Computer and select "Whole Subtree". If you have a substantial number of files on the server this may take several minutes.

Select Files

 

 

 

3) Delete Files Now:

Pressing the Delete Files Now button, in the lower right corner of the application, will initiate the deletion process.
