Avoid Misleading Services

There are lots of "fully branded" partner programs. Here are some points to consider.


Full Branding
Yes. There is no mention of the parent company in the application, web site, management portal or notification process. We have gone to great lengths to completely brand the service, allowing our partners to provide backup service to their clients without any reference to our organization.

Many partner programs will not provide complete branding and often fall short when it comes to web hosting. Don't settle for a partial-branded or co-branded solution.

The Little Guy
We are here to support the small tech companies as well as the larger companies. We have adjusted our pricing structure to account specifically for the smaller tech support companies. In doing so we have flattened our pricing structure, offering the same price per client to the partner, regardless of 5 or 50 clients purchased.

We know how difficult it is to gain traction in the tech support arena and we refuse to participate in anti-competitive pricing models where the smaller company is forced to pay a higher premium or "incentivized" into purchasing more service then is absolutely necessary.

Bandwidth Throttling
Don't get hung out when your client needs to restore their data. Bandwidth throttling is a common way of reducing cost and providing a cheaper service. Don't get stuck with a service that wont deliver when it comes to data restoration. Bandwidth throttling often results in capping the recovery speeds outright or reducing speeds after a transfer cap has been met. None of those polices are in place with our program.

Emergency Recovery
The client's internet connection is the rate limiting step the in the backup and recovery process. In the event that the client loses a significant amount of data that cannot be restored in a timely fashion via direct download, SyncCom will securely package the data on an external drive and ship via courier or overnight service to the client.

Pricing Control
Don't get roped into what often equates to a fancy affiliate program, where you have little control over pricing or branding. The SyncCom partner program provides complete control over pricing. The partner has the ability to create multiple price groups and link pricing to coupons. Partners also have the ability to set price reductions on accounts that are purchased on an annual basis.

Minimum Purchase
There is no minimum number of clients or minimum quota that must be purchased. There are no fees for maintaining low client numbers. Many services will force the partner to purchase clients and quota up front.

Three Variables
When selecting a partner service you will find the decision process allows for selection of Price, Quota and Bandwidth. Ultimately, you only have control over two variables at any time. There are services that are very cheap with lots of storage but have highly limited bandwidth. Conversly, there are some services that have lesser storage availability and greater bandwidth availability.

The SyncWeb backup partner program provides larger storage options and unrestricted bandwidth for a significant value. We recommend that you do not store your client's data in a repository that engages in bandwidth throttling. When the client needs the data it will not be immediately accessible to them and the virtual insurance policy that they have taken with a remote backup service will be worth very little in the time of need. SyncCom does not participate in bandwidth throttling and actively monitors usage to ensure that clients have unfettered access to their protected data.

Pricing and Licensing Tips
We have found that the average backup client uses 15GB of storage. This is based on average client usage over the past year. We have found that the average usage has increased nearly 1GB per year for the past five consecutive years.
